Minimum Circuit Ampacity (MCA) is a term used with equipment that has a hermetric motor compressor(s). MCA is the minimum ampere rating value used to determine the proper size conductors, disconnecting means, and controllers. MCA is determined by the manufacturer, and is marked on the nameplate of the equipment.
